When setting up a new UniFi Building Bridge (UBB) link, sometimes the wireless link might not connect. If the UBB pair fails to adopt or link properly, follow these steps.

First, connect the parent UBB device (this can be either of them to start with) to the network. This can plugged into an existing UniFi Switch that provides PoE, or by using the included PoE injector and using the LAN port for data.
Next, adopt the UBB inside of the UniFi Controller and update the firmware. This can be done via SSH, automatically with a UXG or by using the free HostiFi Device Discovery Tool.
Once adopted, disconnect the network and remove the power for the the parent UBB.
Next, connect the second (child) UBB to the network. This time connect it via a PoE injector, not via the PoE supplied on a UniFi Switch.
Once powered up, adopt the child UBB into the UniFi Controller and update the firmware.
Next, disconnect the data cable for the child UBB and leave it powered on.
Power the parent UBB up again and connect to the network.
Leave the child UBB powered up using a PoE injector without a data connection.
Face the two UBB devices towards each other.
After a few minutes, the wireless link will connect.
If a few of these steps don't work, try the following.
