Ubiquiti launches three new UniFi Protect PTZ Cameras
New G6 PTZ, AI PTZ Industrial and AI PTZ Precision debuted
May 12, 2025
Last year was the first time that Ubiquiti held its UniFi World Conference (UWC) outside of the United States, with events taking place in London, Sydney, Sigapore and other locations. The first UWC event took place in March 2024 in Chicago, and the international events expanded out from there. A few months ago in October, Ubiquiti held its second round of events, with one taking place in Miami.

However, following on from the events in October, Ubiquiti revealed four new dates back in February that took place towards the end of May. These were in Mexico City, São Paulo, London and Berlin.
Last year, Ubiquiti chose a very central venue, which looking back had some logistical issues, such as one desk to check people in and a small corridor to queue in. The location was in a very nice hotel, with a built in events centre, but the location Ubiquiti picked this time around, was much more suitable.
This time it was at the Evolution London events centre in the middle of Battersea Park in London. This had much more space available for queueing and while expensive, there was a large car park within walking distance. It also felt like that there were much more people in attendance to last year. In 2024, I'd say a couple hundred people were there, but this time it felt like around 1,000.
Just like last year, Ubiquiti CEO Robert Pera gave a 20-30 minute talk about where the company has been going since last year and a brief overview of the software advancements made and also, a glimpse at the hardware coming in the coming months.
Once Pera had done his talk, other Ubiquiti employees such as Dan Heath from the UK, Craig Wojtala and others spoke about their fields of expertise regarding UniFi and what the company is working on.
The head of IT from Sony Sports (a company responsible for Hawk Eye) gave a very interesting talk about moving their global IT networking stack to UniFi and the experiences behind that.
In the hands on area, there was a lot of hardware on show, but pretty much all of it was previously seen stuff. There were one or two things that hadn't been seen in person before, such as the new UniFi Protect sensors and a UniFi 5G device with two SIMs, but everything else was previously seen stuff. This was useful to see some hardware that many people might not have seen before, such as the G5 PTZ camera and the new AI PTZ Industrial.
Overall, the entire event offered a very unique chance to speak to and meet people you either only speak to online, or have met before. People flew in from other countries, so the networking side of the event offered a very rare chance to meet these people.
I can't mention what Ubiquiti spoke about at the event in this blog post, but there was an impressive demonstration of openness from the company that has been lacking in years prior. The hardware and software that Ubiquiti is planning on releasing in the next few months looks very promising and directly meets the needs that a lot of people have had for a few years.
As I said last year, these events are great and I really hope they hold more in the future.
