Starlink launches new RV dish, able to be used in motion

New Starlink RV dish can be used in motion, for the first time

Last week, SpaceX launched a new more expensive model of dish for use with RVs, or any vehicle that it can be mounted to. The new dish is larger than other models and can be mounted to a flat roof surface for use in motion, whilst in RVs, trucks and much more.

Starlink is calling the new dish "Flat High Performance" and like all RV plans for Starlink, users will get a deprioritised level of service and will also be able to pause and resume the service, as and when needed. Users will have deprioritized service and will be able to pause / enable service after their first month with no restrictions

New flat dish

The new flat dish has a much larger surface area than any other dishes Starlink offers, with it able to see 35% more sky than before. It is also much more weatherproof, handling hotter temperatures and snow. The new dish isn't really designed to be moved around, with Starlink saying it needs to be placed on top of an RV or flat roof.

Prices are much higher however, the upfront cost being $2,500 (£2,100). The standard dish is much less at $599 (£520). Price per month is $135 (£116), just the same as the standard versions of Starlink.
