Ubiquiti started off slow with its range of PTZ cameras, initially launching the G4 PTZ Industrial in 2020 and then taking quite a while to complete necessary features, such as PTZ tracking and more. The G4 PTZ was also pretty expensive, so Ubiquiti followed this up with the G5 PTZ in summer 2024, which has a more affordable price for those not looking for the impressive optical capabilities found in the G4 PTZ.
Now, Ubiquiti has followed up with three brand new PTZ models, ranging from $399 to $1,299 for the AI PTZ Industrial. The Precision model is likely to cost more than the Industrial version, but pricing has not yet been revealed.
All three models come in either black and white, a trend which Ubiquiti is making with its new cameras and accessories. Also, all models feature a MicroSD slot for edge recording.
First up is the G6 PTZ, which is essentially an upgraded version of the G5 PTZ, which is still on sale for $299. However, the G6 now has two cameras, the sensor has been upgraded to now support 4K video, up from 2K and the whole body is now taller, wider and deeper than before.
The lens itself is also upgraded from 5MP to 8MP.
The two lenses offer an increased level of zoom, with one for wide angle and one for telephoto, it is now capable of 10X hybrid zoom, although real world testing will show how it performs.
Like the G5 PTZ, the G6 has an integrated LED spotlight, but gains a speaker two-way audio and a MicroSD card slot for edge recording.
The new G6 PTZ is listed for $399 on the US Ubiquiti store and will be available in May 2025.
The AI PTZ Industrial is for all intents and purposes, an upgraded version of the G4 PTZ, with the same body and similar sensor. It has a 8MP 4K sensor but thanks to a more capable chipset, it can now handle the AI detections that UniFi Protect has, such as person, vehicle, animal and more. The AI PTZ Industrial also features automatic person tracking too.
Like the G4 PTZ, it also features 22x optical zoom and long range IR night vision.
It's on sale now via the US Ubiquiti store for $1,299.
The last model is the new AI PTZ Precision, which is actually even larger than the AI PTZ Industrial, but can now handle up to 31x optical zoom. Where it also differs is the addition of LIDAR-assisted targeting, which aims automatic zoom and autofocus.
The new AI PTZ Precision will be available in the US in Q3 2025, with no official pricing available yet.
