Ubiquiti releases 3.0.7 firmware for the UXG Pro

3.0.7 brings consistent versioning with other devices, ad-blocking, WireGuard VPN and more

This week, Ubiquiti has released the first version of UniFi OS 3.x for the UniFi NeXt-Gen Gateway (UXG Pro). This version brings the UXG Pro into line with the other UniFi devices. Ubiquiti has said this means the UXG Pro will benefit from improved stability and resource usage as well as quicker release times for new features.

New Features

Ubiquiti has added a few new features seen in the UDM SE and UDR, so it is good to see them added to the UXG Pro. These include:

  • Ad-blocking
  • WireGuard VPN Server
  • DHCP Client option 77 and 90
  • Class of Service (CoS) for DHCP on WAN

It must be said that to get Ad-blocking working, the network it is on must be set to automatic DHCP servers. More information about these new features can be found on our help centre.

More infomation can be found on the community post for 3.0.7.

Installing

Sometimes with the UXG Pro, Ubiquiti does specify what method of installation needs to be used. In some cases, SSH only and then GUI only. For 3.0.7, Ubiquiti has said that any users running 7.3.80 or newer must only use the GUI and to not use SSH.
