Today, Ubiquiti has released UniFi OS 2.5.11 for the UDM SE. There are a lot of changes which you will be able to find in the announcement post on the Ubiquiti Community, however two main features caught our eye that were in the changes. One of which is support for load balancing, something which the UDM SE has been lacking since it was released earlier this year.

Load balancing in UniFi has been supported before with the older USG devices, but with the newer UDM devices it is something that has been lacking since they were originally released. As of writing, the original UDM Pro stil doesn't support load balancing, but today's update for the UDM SE adds proper support.
In the above screenshot you can see what the Internet tab within settings looked like on earlier versions, but as of 2.5.11 it is now possible to have two WAN connections active and have traffic distributed between them. Once distributed is selected, there is a slider to select what percentage of the traffic is set to either WAN.
Both the UDM SE and the UDR now support remote syslog and remote netconsole, giving the ability to send the logs from the device to a remote server. This could be incredibly useful to see what happened to a device that has died in its last few moments. Prior to this, all logs were stored on the device itself.
HostiFi provides hosting for both Ubiquiti and TP-Link software-defined-networking (SDN) applications, with servers for UniFi, UISP and Omada. We also offer network consulting, with HostiFi Professional Services.
