What is new in UniFi Network 9.4.17?
Ubiquiti recently released UniFi Network 9.4.19, so whats new?
September 1, 2025
Ubiquiti launched its first line of enterprise access points in December 2024, which included the E7, E7 Campus and the E7 Audience. The E7 is the first UniFi AP (apart from the original UAP-AC) to feature a square design and some of what the company learned about the thermal properties, helped shape the direction for the U7 Pro XG and U7 Pro XGS.
However, in this guide we'll look at comparing the E7 and E7 Campus as while they might look very similar, there are some notable differences.

Both the UniFi E7 and E7 Campus are really rather similar in terms of specs. Both can handle 1000+ wireless clients, both have dual networking interfaces with one 1GbE and one 10GbE Ethernet and both have identical wireless performance figures too, with support for 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz with a max data rate of 11.5Gbps on 6GHz when using a 320MHz channel width.
Where the main differences come down to, is with the coverage area and outdoor weather rating.
While the E7 is more indoor focused with no weatherproofing, the E7 Campus is IPX6 rated or IP67 rated when usinfthe included weatherproof door kit. The internal antennas on the Campus have pratically double the antenna gain over the E7, despite being the same physical footprint. This means the coverage area has been increased by 150%, jumping from 2,000ft to 5,000ft.
The E7 Campus can also be mounted on a pole outdoors, and comes with the necessary hardware and articulating equipment to do so.
Pricing is the other main difference, with the E7 costing $499 in the US and the E7 Campus coming in at $799.
The recommendation here is fairly straightforward as both APs have the same performance specifications, although the E7 Campus has more antenna gain - this doesn't necessarily work that well in some indoor environments as mobile clients have very small antennas and denser AP coverage would offer a better experience.
However, if you need this kind of performance indoors then go with the E7 and if you need it outdoors, look at the E7 Campus.
