Announced in summer 2025, Ubiquiti is now supporting the self-installation of UniFi OS Server on your own hardware, meaning features previously unavailable such as Teleport VPN, UniFi Identity, Site Magic and more, are now available without the need for a Cloud Key or UniFi Dream Machine. It is supported on macOS, Windows and Linux.

Ubiquiti has made its UniFi OS Server platform available to run on Windows, Linux and macOS with support for x64, arm64, Apple Silicon and Intel based machines.
This includes a huge list of supported Linux operating systems, such as Ubuntu, Debian, Parrot OS, PikaOS and many more.
On Windows machines, it does need to be running WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) version 2.
On Linux, it needs Podman 4.3.1 or higher.
Ubiquiti doesn't really give much information here for CPU and RAM, but a minimum 20GB of free disk space is required.
HostiFi provides hosting for Ubiquiti software platforms, with servers for UniFi and UISP. We also offer network consulting, with HostiFi Professional Services.
